Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the OshoGPT mobile application (“OshoGPT”, “the app”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares, stores and deletes information when you use it. By using the app you agree to this policy. If you have questions, write to contact.oshogpt@gmail.com.

OshoGPT is an independent AI application inspired by the published discourses of Osho. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by Osho International Foundation or any Osho organisation, and the AI is not Osho.

1. Information we collect

Data	What and why
Account information	When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, profile photo URL and a unique account ID. We use them to create and secure your account and show your profile.
Messages and answers	The questions you type and the AI answers, stored as your conversation history so you can continue conversations. Your messages are also sent to our AI provider to generate the answer (see section 3).
Usage data	Number of messages per day, time of your last message and plan limits, used to enforce daily quotas, prevent abuse and keep the service running.
Purchase information	If you subscribe, Google Play gives us a purchase token, the plan, its status and expiry date so we can unlock your plan. We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details — payments are handled entirely by Google Play.
Device integrity	Firebase App Check (Google Play Integrity) sends a token proving the request comes from the genuine app on a genuine device. It is used only to protect the service from abuse.
Reports you submit	If you report an AI answer, we store the answer, your reason and optional note to review and improve safety.
Settings	Your language and theme choice are stored only on your device.

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, files, microphone or camera data, and the app contains no advertising or advertising identifiers.

2. How we use information

To provide the conversation service, remember your history and generate answers.
To manage your plan, daily message limits and subscription.
To keep the service safe: prevent spam, abuse and misuse, and review reported content.
To respond to your support requests.

We do not sell your personal information and do not use your conversations for advertising.

3. Service providers who process your data

Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, App Check) — hosts your account and conversations on Google Cloud servers.
Anthropic (Claude models) — receives the text of your message, recent conversation context and relevant passages from Osho’s books to generate most answers. Under Anthropic’s commercial terms this data is not used to train its models and is kept only for a limited time for safety and abuse monitoring.
Google Cloud Vertex AI (Gemini models) — turns your message into a search query for Osho’s books, and generates the answer when the main model is unavailable. Under Google Cloud’s terms this data is not used to train Google’s models.
Google Play — processes subscription payments under Google’s own privacy policy.

These providers process data only on our instructions. Data may be processed on servers outside India (for example in the United States). We may also disclose information if required by law.

4. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest on Google Cloud. Access rules ensure only you can read your own conversations; only the app’s servers can change plans and limits. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

5. Retention

Account data and conversation history are kept until you delete a conversation or your account.
Server logs used for security and debugging are kept for up to 30 days.
A minimal record of Google Play purchases (anonymised after account deletion) may be kept as required for accounting, fraud prevention and legal obligations.

6. Your choices and rights

Delete conversations from the history drawer at any time.
Delete your account in the app: Profile → Delete account. This permanently erases your account, profile and all conversations. You can also request deletion on our account deletion page.
You may ask for a copy or correction of your data, or withdraw consent, by emailing contact.oshogpt@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days.

7. Children

OshoGPT is intended for adults aged 18 and above. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will delete the data.

8. Important notice about AI answers

Answers are generated by artificial intelligence and may be inaccurate. They are for reflection only and are not medical, psychological, legal or financial advice. If you are in crisis, please contact a professional or the Tele-MANAS helpline 14416 (India, free, 24×7).

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The effective date above shows the latest version; important changes will be announced in the app.
